There were no visitors to
be heard.
GOOD NEWS
Principal, Barbara Hogan,
stated that second grade did Terra Nova testing this week. The March character counts pillar is
caring. Miss
Principal, Ryan McWilliams,
reported that spring pictures were taken on March 13th. There is a bookfair at Anna McDonald this
week. Prime Time Reading Night is Friday from
Principal, Ron Pacheco, reported
that the Mathletes will be competing tomorrow.
They are coached by Mrs. Burich-Cox and Mrs. Kohlhagen. Twenty-two students will have artwork on
display at LWHS Artworks. Gym class has
two new units this year, Lacrosse and Omnicom ball. State Band competition will be held April 26th. There was a volleyball pep assembly for the
volleyball team before they went to state.
The volleyball team was introduced and Mrs. Guzek had a few words to say
about the team.
SUPERINTENDENT’S REPORT:
Supt.
Butters reported that twenty-one school districts have joined the Will County
403b Consortium. We should have a
proposal from Gatekeeper for the next meeting.
Supt. Butters reported that the district financial
profile status is recognition. Supt.
Butters thanked the community for approving the 31 cent education fund
increase.
Supt. Butters reported that the 2007 levy tax rate is
$3.31. Last year it was $3.28. We are in year three of five for phasing in
the education fund tax rate increase.
Supt. Butters stated that the district and individual
schools are in the process of updating our crisis plans. The village, fire and police departments, and
EMA have been meeting with the committee to help refine our current plans.
We gained two new students last month.

CLOSED SESSION:
J. Pietrzyk made a motion
to move into Closed Session for litigation, employment, compensation,
evaluation and/or dismissal of personnel and real estate, at 7:35 p.m., with a
second by T. Doyle. All voted aye.
G. Elder made a motion to
reconvene from Closed Session at 8:45 p.m., with a second by T. Doyle. All voted aye.
J.
Pietrzyk made a motion to accept the resignation of Brenda Reiter and Melinda
Schimmel, with a second by N. Polyak. All
voted aye.
N.
Polyak made a motion to dismiss employee #115 at the end of the school year as
discussed in Closed Session, with a second by T. Doyle. All voted aye.
G.
Elder made a motion as discussed in closed session to approve the addendum to
the settlement agreement dated 12/11/07 in regards to compensatory, special
education and related services to specific special education students, with a
second by J. Knoll. Roll Call Vote: J.
Knoll – aye, T. Doyle – aye, S. Mancke – aye, G. Elder – aye, J. Pietrzyk –
aye, and N. Polyak – aye. Motion Carried.
NEW BUSINESS:
There
was no new business.
