2006-08 School Improvement Goals

 

ONE AND TWO YEAR GOALS

 

1)    Complete the mathematics scope and sequence (to include the creation of a math resource binder with calendar and chapter assessments).

2)    Adopt a writing curriculum and begin to develop a writing scope and sequence as aligned to State Standards.

3)    Review our current model of services offered to students with and without Individual Educational Plans.   

4)    Begin to develop guided reading strategies in grades 3, 4, & 5 (to include the creation of resource binders for every novel set in the building).

5)    Enhance our character education programs.

6)    Enhance our school safety plan in conjunction with our local fire and police department.

7)    Plan for future enrollment growth (see staffing recommendations spreadsheet).

 

 

THREE – FIVE YEAR GOALS

 

1)          Increase the percentage of students who meet/exceed State Standards in reading, mathematics, writing, science and social science.

2)          Continue to build a strong partnership with the community of Manhattan to address the needs of a growing school district.

3)          Continue to build a positive and safe learning environment.                                

4)          Continue efforts to utilize research based best practices for instruction and intervention.
