Superintendent's Message
The
Manhattan school community believes effective schools are the result of the
collaborative efforts of the Board of Education, administration, teachers,
parents and community members. In providing our children with the best education
possible, our Board of Education, staff, parents and community show us time
and again that they are committed to providing an educational environment
for our students that is safe, welcoming, nurturing and challenging. Most
importantly, it is an environment worthy of our fine community and devoted
to developing our most precious resource, our children.
Our faculty has high expectations for all students. Resource support is made available so that all students have the opportunity to succeed. Our curriculum is based on current research, aligned to educational standards, and sequentially organized to prepare our students for their high school studies and beyond. A long with a strong academic program, we strive to help students achieve the social skills needed to become good, productive citizens.
Technology is available and utilized throughout our schools, both in enhancing the curriculum and linking student learning with the rest of the world. Classroom computers and computer labs provide secure and supervised Internet connection for our students.
Manhattan School District provides our students with opportunities to participate and enjoy a variety of school activities, clubs, and sports. These programs enrich our children’s educational experiences while promoting school spirit and tradition. Indeed, our school district has been successful and with the continued support and cooperation of all we will be able to hold true to our claim, Manhattan School District 114 “Where W e Succeed Together."
