Students may check out one book each time they visit the library.
Students are not charged fines for overdue books, but are not allowed to check out a book until the first book is returned.
Students will be given verbal reminders and written reminders for the overdue book when necessary.
If a student loses or damages a book, he/she will be charged the replacement cost for the book as well as a $2.00 processing fee.

Each month, a different theme is provided as a topic of study in the library. Various centers are provided for the students to learn more about each topic. The centers may be Legos, puppets, puzzles, board games, book center, book loft, and teacher story time. This year’s themes are:

	www.mpld.org The Manhattan-Elwood Public Library. Check the library’s catalog, place holds on books, check for upcoming events, use your library card to access databases for research.
	www.pbskids.org Sponsored by the Public Broadcasting System. A safe place for kids to explore and play hundreds of educational games with their favorite PBS characters.
