I want to thank everyone who had the chance to complete the brief survey that was shared last week. We had 849 survey responses. The information you shared with us was very important to the messages and the information we will provide to all of our current families and to our community. From the results, we are aware that over 50% of those responding are unaware of the current enrollment trends, the lack of classroom space in all three buildings, and the 11 modular classrooms that will be in use for the upcoming school year. Just as important, the comments and questions that were shared provided clarity regarding the information you will need prior to the primary election and referendum vote on June 28, 2022 so that you may make an informed decision. Over the next several weeks, we will be answering your questions and working to provide you with a clear understanding of the current situation at all three of our school buildings as well as a clear understanding of a proposed solution.
To begin sharing information based on the survey, this Frequently Asked Questions document was developed. We sincerely hope that you will find the information to be useful. We also understand that you may have additional questions and we will continue to provide those answers and information to you in the coming days and weeks. On Wednesday, May 4, 2022 we will be hosting our first public forum at Wilson Creek Elementary, at 6:30pm. We will begin with a brief presentation followed by different break-out sessions that you will be able to attend and ask questions.

There will be additional informational meetings and sources of information in the weeks leading up to the June 28, 2022Primary Election including:
  • Public Forums
  • Joliet Herald Interview
  • Village of Manhattan Senior Luncheon
  • Roadhouse 52 Veterans Breakfast
  • WJOL Interview
  • Website & Facebook Postings
  • Informational Youtube Videos

Your help and your partnership in keeping Manhattan School District 114 as one of the very best is truly appreciated.
