At the June 17, 2025 meeting of the Manhattan School District Board of Education, Barbara Epps and Christopher Boswell were appointed to fill the two remaining open seats on the board. The seats were vacant following the 2025 election where no candidates ran for the open two-year term seats. Over the last several weeks, the board reviewed letters of interest and interviewed candidates at a special meeting on June 2nd. Both Mrs. Epps and Mr. Boswell took the Oath of Office and will serve two-year terms, effective immediately.
With these appointments, the Board of Education is now fully seated and positioned to support Dr. Aherne as he transitions into the role of Superintendent effective July 1, 2025. The Board of Education will continue supporting the students, staff, and community while ensuring our schools are responsive to the needs of the community, providing a quality education for all students.
