Dear Manhattan 114 Families:

We are excited to be welcoming back our students next week. On Monday, August 23rd we will be hosting the “Meet Your Teacher” and school supply drop-off from 2:00pm - 6:00pm. While we are making every effort to return to normal, as indicated in my last communication, the Executive Order 2021-18 (Executive Order 85) was issued on August 4th and requires that all teachers, students, staff, and visitors to P-12 schools who are two years of age or older wear a mask indoors, regardless of vaccination status. Therefore, as a reminder:
Students and visitors must wear a mask indoors at all District 114 facilities, regardless of vaccination status. Individuals who do not have a mask will not be allowed to enter the building.
Any student who has a medical contraindication (e.g. difficulty breathing) or disability that prevents him or her from wearing a mask must submit a medical certification, MSD114 Mask Exemption Form, from the student's health care provider to the District Office, in order to be exempt from the mask requirement. Once your physician completes the form, please deliver it to the district office located at 25632 S. Gougar Road in Manhattan. It will be approved and a copy will be sent to the nurse’s office and placed in your child(ren)’s medical file.
If you do not get the exemption form to the district office before August 23rd, you may bring it to the school and submit it to one of the administrators at the front of the school before you enter.
I would also like to share some transportation information:
Transportation Information is found in PowerSchool. Bus stop change requests must be emailed to Pam DeBoer at pdeboer@manhattan114.org by Thursday 8/19 so that it can be changed in time for the first day of school.
Important reminders from LW210 Transportation:
Masks must be correctly worn on the bus at all times.
Please be at the bus stop at least 10 minutes earlier than the time in PowerSchool. Route times may vary the first few days. We appreciate your patience.
Parents of Kindergarten students need to be at the stop in the AM and PM.
Bus drivers are required to have seating charts for all bus routes. Your child's school will have a copy along with LW210 Transportation.
We look forward to a wonderful year and are excited to have all of our students and staff back in the buildings.

Sincerely,

Rusty Ragon, Superintendent
