This is a reminder that 'In-Person' classes are back in session today. Thank you to our maintenance team for keeping our sidewalks clear for our staff and students!

In light of the predicted severe and hazardous temperatures ranging from -25 to -30 degrees, coupled with a shortage of school buses as a result of the cold temperatures, Manhattan School District 114 has decided to transition to an e-Learning day tomorrow, Tuesday, January 16th.
All after-school activities for Tuesday, January 16th are canceled.
We anticipate that schools will reopen for ‘in-person’ learning on Wednesday, January 17th.


3rd graders enjoyed a visit from our local K9's. Thank you to our local & county law enforcement officers for stopping by and sharing a day in the life of a K9. Thank you Nurse McCleverty for organizing the presentation.

Ten 5th grade students from the Anna McDonald 5th grade Choir were selected to perform with a State-wide choir at the Illinois Music Educator's Association's All-State Conference and Festival on January 27th. The festival will take place in Peoria and will include high-achieving 4th and 5th grade music students from all over the state. The Manhattan students selected are Kaylie Chmura, Alice Harvey, Addison Cooke, Emillie Olszewski, Blaise Rose, Alyssa Marzec, Winter Reddicks, Kailey McGraw, Mira Joseph, and Carly Connelly.
The entire Anna McDonald 5th grade choir will be performing their winter concert, along with the 4th and 5th grade orchestra and 5th grade band, on February 15th at 6:30pm in the Manhattan Junior High School's gym.


Good afternoon. I sent out a message yesterday evening but I wanted to share a portion of the message here on our website and Facebook pages in the event of a school closing due to inclement weather. In the event we need to close schools due to inclement weather, we will do our best to contact you as early as possible. We will always try to contact you the day/night before but if not, then we will notify you before 6:00am. The methods of communication will include; text messaging, email notification, posting an announcement on Manhattan 114 Webpage and Facebook, and notification on the Emergency Closing Center which includes announcements on radio such as WJOL and the local television stations.

We mixed extra holiday spirit into our school pride assembly today. We celebrated our family of the month, enjoyed music from our 2nd graders, sang along to holiday classics, and both staff and students made attempts at the Ms. Book's possible shot. Have a wonderful break, Wilson Creek!





Incredible day of dodgeball at THE MAC. Our last season as a 3rd, 4th, & 5th grade bunch. Congrats to 3rd-Zaleski; 4th-Gilbert; & 5th-Kijewski for winning the grade level championships. Our 18th Annual Holiday Tourney Grand Champion this year goes to 5th-Bucz. They absolutely came out of nowhere and went on a very impressive win streak.

The MJHS Student Council is holding their annual fundraiser for the Angel Tree Network. This fundraiser raises money to support local families in need during this time of the year. 6th-8th grade students can bring money to donate to this cause December 4th-8th.
