Last week MJHS's Student Council attended the Illinois Association of Junior High Student Councils Mid-Year Workshop held Friday evening at Grissom Middle School!
Our Student Council members, led by Mrs. Kozlowicz and Mrs. Shinovich, had an amazing experience connecting with other area student councils, collaborating, and participating in a variety of engaging team-building activities. We’re so proud of the way they represented Manhattan Junior High! 💙🖤🤍

We're only halfway through it and Staff Institute Day has already been a busy day for our MSD114 champions! Manhattan Fire and Police started the day with our entire staff, provided breakfast, and expressed their gratitude for the mutual support we've shared this year. After Dr. Aherne and Mrs. Donovan addressed staff with district updates and information, they had opportunities to collaborate, learn, and reflect with job-alike peers across the district. Each school will spend the rest of the day back in their buildings for meetings, planning, and some fun!

The 5Essentials survey is a statewide effort by the Illinois State Board of Education to gauge school climate and learning conditions in Illinois schools. Your participation in this effort is critical as it helps guide district and school improvement planning each year. All MSD114 schools need at least 20 percent parent participation to receive their scores.
Parents/guardians with more than one child in MSD114 schools are encouraged to take one survey for each child.
The ISBE survey is available in English and Spanish. Your identity and survey responses will be kept completely confidential and will not be connected to you or your child.
