Our MJHS Student Council held their annual Angel Tree Network competition last week where student were encouraged to donate money in a grade-level challenge. Overall, Student Council raised $2,256.25 to purchase presents for seven Manhattan children who could use some help this holiday season. The 8th-grade Student Council members did the shopping, and all Student Council members helped with the wrapping. Thank you to everyone who donated, and great job Student Council members and sponsors (Mrs. Kozlowicz and Mrs. Shinovich)!

The MJHS Fishing Club had an incredible night this week at Bass Pro Shops in Bolingbrook! 🎣🐟 Nearly 30 MJHS Demons Fishing Club members and their families took part in the experience, learning from the knowledgeable staff, asking questions, watching a live lure demonstration in the fish tank 🐠, and getting help picking out gear. It was a fantastic event enjoyed by all!
A huge thank you to Bass Pro Shops for hosting us and to Mr. Hannig for dedicating his time and efforts to our future anglers!

At last night's Board of Education meeting, a group of 6th grade students were recognized for their outstanding accomplishments at the IESA Speech Competition. There to be recognized were two of the three students who earned the Judges' Choice Award at this year's competition. Congratulations to these students and Speech Team sponsor, Mrs. Molitor, on their wonderful achievement. We look forward to seeing what they can do in two more years of MJHS Speech competitions!

Thank you to our Manhattan Band Boosters for a great few days of holiday shopping! Anna McDonald students loved picking out gifts and wrapping them.

Our band, orchestra, and choir programs hosted their Winter Concert last evening at MJHS! All groups gave amazing holiday-themed performances, full of remixes, story telling, and solos! Great work, musicians, directors, and all of those involved in on Demon Music Programs!

Staff at MJHS had fun celebrating the 67th day of school with students! It may have been the one time during the year the students remained quiet anytime they heard or saw that number!

Did you know that the gym side of Anna McDonald is the oldest part of our flagship building? In 2025, a long process of replacement for the floor was needed. Last week, the finishing touches of the lines and Demon logo were added to complete the project. We are excited for our Anna McDonald students to enjoy this fresh new space!

Celebrating Our Talented Musicians!
Two of our outstanding MJHS Band students proudly represented the Manhattan Band program at the ILMEA Honor Band Festival at Unity JH on Saturday, November 22! Their hard work, dedication, and outstanding musicianship truly shined on this stage.
Congratulations, girls, on an amazing achievement, you made us all proud! 💙🎵

MJHS’s Gobble Gala was a huge success thanks to the incredible work of rooms 500, 502, 503, and 505 students and staff! 🦃
Students prepared a variety of delicious breakfast items and created the invitations, artwork, and festive Thanksgiving décor that brought the whole event to life. Throughout the day, they welcomed staff with warm smiles, served with pride, and helped keep everything running smoothly from setup to cleanup.
We are so proud of their hard work, teamwork, and creativity—what a wonderful way to kick off the season of gratitude! 🍁🤎
