🇺🇸 25 Years Later, We Remember.

Today, Manhattan School District 114 honors the lives lost on September 11, 2001, the heroes who answered the call, and the families forever changed. May we continue to carry forward the courage, compassion, service, and unity that brought our nation together. We remember. We honor. We will never forget. 🇺🇸

Marching with Demon Pride!

The Manhattan Junior High School Marching Band proudly represented MJHS while performing in the Manhattan Labor Day Parade as well as the Labor Day festivities at the Round Barn!

Led by Mrs. Pedziwater, these talented students dedicate countless hours and plenty of hard work, effort, and definitely some sweat to learning and performing music for our community to enjoy. We are incredibly proud of their commitment and this is just the beginning of their outstanding performances that are sure to come this year!

Thank you to Mrs. Pedziwater, our students, and everyone who supports and cheers on the MJHS Band. Way to represent our school and community! Go Demons! 💙🤍🖤

Before diving into the Eureka Squared curriculum, all grade levels in the math department spent time working on critical skills, such as accountable (math) talk, collaborative, and teamwork. It was great seeing kids work on puzzles, debate random questions, and work through a cup stacking challenge!

To kick off the school year, our 4th and 5th graders at MIS dove into STEM with this year’s motto: Engineering is like a cactus 🌵 Just like a cactus, students had to adapt, grow, and persevere through their first engineering challenge. They explored cardboard connection techniques, working together to create a free-standing, balanced structure. Each student contributed a piece, helping our amazing MIS cactus garden grow!
