A record number of participants enjoyed Camp Invention at Wilson Creek this week. Campers entering Kindergarten through 6th grade participated in a full week of nonstop STEM learning and FUN! This year's activities included creating an arcade claw machine, building an electric wired control board, and launching plush penguins. Thanks to the MSD114 staff that spend an extra week at school to bring Camp Invention to our community!
At last night's meeting, the Board of Education recognized the hard work and dedication of Dr. Ron Pacheco, celebrated the success of our MJHS track teams, and welcomed Mrs. Barbara Epps and Mr. Christopher Boswell to the MSD114 school board. We will now head into the new school year with a fully seated Board of Education. 2025-2026 will be here before we know it!
Phase II of our construction project is moving along and on schedule! The Board of Education toured the spaces with the Pepper Construction team this week. We remain grateful for their partnership and collaboration as this phase came to life over the course of a busy school year. The Board anticipates using the new space as soon as their August meeting.

We're celebrating Dr. Pacheco on his last day with students in MSD114. As our district's only retiree this year, we wish him the very best in retirement! Thank you for your service and dedication to this community, Dr. Pacheco!

MIS was thrilled to host its first McWilliams Mashup on Wednesday! 10 lucky students won the chance to participate in this event by entering their name in the Raffle for Reading that took place at Family Engagement Night. These kiddos faced off against Mr. McWilliams in 5 challenges that tested their athleticism, coordination, and grit, and they sure brought their A-game! Congrats to our winners and thank you to everyone who helped make the Mashup a great success!
The Class of 2025 had a busy 2 days: their 8th-Grade Dance & Great America Trip! Thanks to Mrs. Watson, Mrs. Dobczyk, & all the staff that decorated for & chaperoned the dance as well as the staff & parents that went on the trip! Without them, these celebrations wouldn't happen!

Thanks to our PTO and volunteers that helped with the Field Days at MJHS last week! Despite having to scramble and make adjustments to move inside on Wednesday, all students had a blast! We're blessed to have such a committed group of parents that do what's best for kids!
Yesterday, all of our music programs at the Junior High combined to give a surprise performance honoring Dr. Pacheco! Thank you to Mrs. Pedziwater, Ms. Perkne, and all the musicians who planned it all! Thanks, Dr. Pacheco, for your contributions in Manhattan over the years!
MJHS hosted our first-ever House Olympics, and it was a blast! Thanks to the over 180 students and staff who competed! A special thank you to our four student MCs, Blue Crew helpers and our SEL Committee for planning this, especially Mrs. Flavio! Winner will be announced Monday!
Our first kickball tournament as a 2nd and 3rd grade building was a huge success. Mrs. Zaleski and Mrs. Darley's class faced off as grade level champions. Darley's Dragons took home the trophy as building champions and got to play the staff! Thank you to Mr. Erickson for organizing such a fun tradition. These are the days!

Our SRO team is back for their final episode of "It's a WE Thing" for the school year. They're sharing tips for parents on keeping kids aware of surroundings, safe on bikes and ATVs, and encouraging a digitally healthy summer ahead.
Once again, we are grateful to SRO Beauchamp and SRO Bernardy for their unwavering support of our school community. They are champions for our students and teammates to our staff and parents. We look forward to continuing our collaboration with the Manhattan Police Department next year!
