The Book Fair is coming to Manhattan Intermediate! MIS is excited to host our Spring Literati Book Fair from April 28th through May 2nd. All students will visit the fair with their class, and families are invited to shop the fair at Family Engagement Night on May 1st. MIS Student Council asked their teachers, "ORANGE you glad it's almost Spring Break?!" Feeling punny, they stocked the teachers' lounge with lots of on-theme goodies to show their appreciation for our top notch MIS staff.
Mrs. Hassett's 8th Grade Advanced ELA students showcased their discussion skills in the library with a student-led Socratic Seminar after finishing The Hunger Games!
Students posed in-depth questions to each other, exploring dystopian societies, character development, point of view, and theme. They demonstrated their ability to build on each other's responses, drive the conversation forward, and reference the text to make real-world connections.
These critical thinking and discussion skills will carry over into their writing as they analyze a chosen theme in essay format in the coming weeks. Fantastic job, students! 👏🔥

A huge shoutout to our amazing MJHS students and staff for their dedication in raising money, collecting donations, and spreading awareness for the Manhattan Food Pantry! Thanks to their hard work, over 2,100 items were donated to help local families in need.
A special thank you to Mrs. Tooley, Mrs. Pierce, and Mrs. Dunlap for leading this incredible initiative and making the food drive such a success! Your dedication and leadership truly made a difference.
We also want to give a big thank you to the Manhattan Police Department and Emergency Services for providing an unforgettable escort to the pantry—your support made the delivery even more special!

Our MJHS Boys Bowling Team had an outstanding performance, earning 2nd place overall at their recent tournament in Homer! A special shoutout to our individual standout, who secured a 4th place finish!
Our Girls Team also showed great effort and determination, making us proud with their strong performance!
