In the April 1, 2025 Consolidated Election, Manhattan School District 114 had six school board positions available for election. There were four 4-year terms and two 2-year terms in which five candidates ran for 4-year terms and no candidates ran for 2-year terms.
The Board of Education is accepting letters of application to fill the two 2-year term member vacancies. The individuals selected will serve on the Board of Education until the 2027 Consolidated Election.
Interested applicants must submit a written letter of interest to Superintendent Dr. Ron Pacheco at rpacheco@manhattan114.org by May 9, 2025. Letters should include a candidate's qualifications and will be reviewed by the Board of Education.
Applicants selected for an interview will be contacted to schedule an interview time. Interviews will be held at a Special Meeting of the Board of Education.

Reminder: MIS Student Council is hosting its annual 🍿Popcorn Fundraiser🍿 TOMORROW, April 17th. 4th and 5th graders can buy bags of popcorn for $1 each to enjoy with their lunches, and all proceeds will benefit MIS school improvement projects 📚


Congratulations to the MJHS Boys Bowling Team! They ended their season finishing in 8th place at the IESA State Tournament. This is the strongest finish in the history of our bowling program. Way to go, Demons!


We hope to see you tonight for our family night event at Anna McDonald. This event will include various activities and games, our art show, and 3rd grade music club showcase.

On Saturday Pack Council delivered care packages to the NICU at Silver Cross Hospital with funds raised from open gym. The care team was extremely grateful for the donations!

Staff from all MSD114 buildings attended The Brain & Behavior Training provided by CharacterStrong. All MSD114 students benefit from CharacterStrong's social emotional learning curriculum. We look forward to this team of educators bringing their learning back to their colleagues and building on our practices for all students!







Thank you to Matt Wilhelm for a great assembly yesterday. His powerful message about perseverance, courage, and kindness was matched with amazing BMX skills. The students especially loved the last trick where he jumped over Mrs. Lautenbach and Mrs. Kirk!





Thank you Matt Wilhelm for stopping by MIS to show us your latest BMX Bike tricks. Matt has been on America's Got Talent; 30 Seconds to Fame; X Games; and he was a World Champion multiple times. His demonstrations pack a punch. and his words are encouraging for our kids! Thank you to our PTO for funding this event.
