What a day for MJHS! Between softball practice, cross country practice, baseball tryouts, orchestra camp, band camp, and the first day of our Summer Jump Start Program, Manhattan Junior High was a busy place today! We’re beaming with Demon Pride for all of our students and staff participating in all these awesome activities!

This Wednesday, August 3rd is our first Athletic Expectations Night! If your athlete has made the softball, baseball, or cross country teams they are required to come with a parent/guardian. If your athlete is interested in trying out for boys volleyball or girls basketball, it is recommended that you attend. Bring any completed paperwork and we will see you there! Email your coach or our Athletic Director, Gina Burlison, at gburlison@manhattan114.org with any questions!

MJHS Cross Country Tryouts are this Monday, August 1st at 8:00 am! Remember, all athletes must have a physical on record to tryout. Please contact Coach Ferguson or Coach Swearingen at mferguson@manhattan114.org or sswearingen@manhattan114.org with questions!

MJHS Athletics will be hosting our first Athletic Expectations Night on Wednesday, August 3rd at 6:30 pm. Any student-athlete who has already made a fall sport or intends on trying out for one, should attend. (Baseball, Softball, XC, Boys Volleyball, & Girls Basketball) There will be Athletic Boosters merchandise for sale and the opportunity to pay activity fees if cash/check are preferred. Bring your completed physicals and a pen to sign any additional forms! We can't wait to see everyone there! Anna McDonald 5th grade teachers Kim Davern and Tracy Lamont are traveling Ireland with Bookbag Tours. One of their stops is a visit at Castle Park School in Dublin to see what education is like in Ireland. Safe travels ladies!
